Logitech Solar Keyboard K750 Manual
Solar Eliminates the Nusance of Batteries. This is a really great concept. Touch is good, but takes a bit of adjustment from using most other boards. But you'll get it in no time. The flip out feet to raise the back of the board seem flimsy and because I need them, they'll break.
This is and is not surprising. The Solar part is great. The best part. I have Warm White LED tape on the lip of an Art Board that sits under my raised, on a fluted cinder block, main monitor and they are, as per the 'charge indicators', enough light to keep the board charged(ing). I have a friend that puts his on his fence facing the sun for a few hours.
To me that 'kinda Nutz', but that's what works for him. These boards are suppose to be able to use ambient and office light to keep them going for a good long time. So I should be golden.
This is GREAT for me. I am so tired of dealing with batteries, although, it's only one of the four that goes low and needs to be replaced. Now I don't have to and have 3 White 1st Gen Apple keyboards in storage now. This does have a single coin battery that I trust recharges as needed to support the board when it's not getting enough light? I just hope this board last a good long time?! Db: 5.54:turn the paragon ntfs for mac. With all the Logitech gear I have there are some hit and misses.
And it's usually the misses that are the more important gear I need. The only 'real' big and disappointing negative is that the printing on the keys are decals. I fear that they will scratch/wear off long before the board dies.
That's a typical type of shortcoming that I know Logitech for. The bulk of the device is great, then there is one or two things that they miss the mark on or take the easy way out. Overall, I really like this keyboard and hope that there will be no problems. Will do Would have like to know have know before purchasing that it required a USB hook up (which caused me to have to buy extra USB ports since my four on my Mac are already occupied).
The only hint of it is in the image, but there is no mention anywhere of the purpose of the USB in the product description. If you are switching from the original Apple Keyboard, then it will take a while to get used to the lesser quality keys. It does not compare. But it will do the job. I needed a rechargeable keyboard with a numeric keypad.
And this price was much more satisfying than the Apple originals. And it is solar so I expect that to be a good exchange. The battery was included which is good (didn't realize it would even have one) but we almost broke the keyboard trying to get the battery out in order to remove the protective sticker. To sum it up: a bit of a headache to get set up but once up and running - it does the job wonderfully. Only didn't work once in the first week, simply had to turn it off and back on and then was good to go.
Great Keyboard w/ Number Pad The only complaint I have is it isn't Blutooth. If you use the fn key to activate dictation you will need to change dictation activation to a different keyboard shortcut.
My iMac would not activate dictation when the fn key was pressed twice. I researched this issue on Logitech's site and they know about this issue and recommends mapping your command key to activate dictation. Also, if you want to monitor your battery level status you will need to install the 'solar app' from Logitech. If you're running the latest MACOS you will need to change the default OS system to 'choose OS' in the drop down menu on Logitech's site. Otherwise the solar app will not be visible for download.
Wireless for Mac Setup I bought this refurbished and am pleased so far. I had to buy a Logitech mouse to take advantage of the Unifying Receiver system (I am working off of a laptop, so USB ports are prime real estate). I LOVE having a full keypad, and I love that it is wireless.
To my knowledge, there are no more wireless full keyboards with number pad on the market that are compatible with Apple. It gets a four for being refurbished (has an air bubble in the solar area); should come with a mouse; is a bit pricy for a keyboard; and isn't as sleek in detail as Apple or other Logitech products.
'Bought refurbished, works like new' My small office moved over from PC's to Mac's. The standard Mac mini keyboard doesn't work very well for an accounting business due to lack of numeric key pad. Any regular USB keyboard or add on number key pad would have done the trick, however we wanted to stay with the Mac theme. Wireless, native control keys, color, etc.and within a specific dollar range.
This keyboard worked out great and at a great price. It looks great and close enough to Mac's color, with Mac control keys. The keyboard was very easy to set up, although I wish it was Bluetooth so I didn't have to use up a USB slot, but set up was quick and easy. The solar app is very informative although you really don't need the app. Now if you're wondering about the solar capabilities worry not!
The keyboard DOES charge in regular office light and stays charged. When I first installed this refurbished keyboard the app stated I had 70 - 80% charge.
Since then (about 2 months later) the keyboard stays at a consistent 100% charge. Cons: Not Bluetooth, have to use up USB slot with USB receiver. Pros: Easy to set up, looks great, keys are smooth and very close to Mac's key feel, very comfortable to type with, wireless, no need to charge and stays charged even in low to no light.
Product info stated keyboard will stay charged in no light for up to 3 months.that would be impressive although I have no intentions in testing that fact. Price: I purchased refurbished for around $35 - $40 however New are around $60 - $80 and worth every penny. Recommended: Yes!
