Hi i have come to here for information i have googled but could not find anything (with evidence) of working adapters with a mac mini 10.8.2 before anyone says use the thunderbolt port, that is going to be used for ethernet. Again before anyone says why (multi pathing). Basically i am looking for an adapter either hdmi to vga (now i bought one but does not work) has anyone used Kanex ATV Pro HDMI to VGA Adapter with a mac mini? Or is there a usb to vga that will work with a mac mini 10.8.2 thanks any help would appreciated. You are correct that HDMI is digital only, but with a scan convertor you can convert it to a standard VGA signal. We have some in use with Apple TVs on one of our campuses. At the moment we have a floor full of macs which connect to a windows server which is connected to a san fo file share (issues with lock files etc) (we also have window machines and servers as well) we want to connect the mac mini to the san (via iSCSI Initiator) and the macs can then go through that to access the shares and we can use certain policies which work better, rather then windows server to the macs. I got the thunder bolt to ethernet because of speed.
I just wanted a simple light adapter so i can connect the mac mini to a kvm switch in a server rack. This might be exactly what i am looking for.
